"Oh yeah, we know that from farm school..."
"We are always impressed by how much they take away from their experiences on the farm. Often, we go to introduce something to them and they say, "oh yeah, we know that from farm school."
Their handcrafts are amazing too. We see you teach them useful skills like sewing and dyeing, and to identify the utility of natural materials in the creation of art. We are grateful for your focus on healthy eating because we value that at home, too.
Most of all, we appreciate how well you care for our boys; we trust that you always have their best interests at heart and show up every week with smiles and energy making them feel welcomed and supported for their entire morning at the farm!

"Thank you for the magical farm school! It's everything we could have wanted for Ava's first school experience outside of the house. She has grown so much this year and has LOVED being a little red chick! We appreciate all the hard work and love that you pour into the program!"

Why We Started
Young Pioneers
From the Creators of Sand n' Straw
From a place for growing food during COVID, to now…
Our family farm in Vista, California, became more than just a place to grow food when COVID-19 hit – it transformed into a community hub at a time when so much around us was closed.
Driven by our passion for teaching the next generation and fostering a love for sustainable farming within our community, we recognized the farm's potential to be more than just a place to grow food. There's something special about getting your hands in the dirt and raising those serotonin levels. We understood the importance of creating a space where kids could be kids and learn outdoors, so we launched the Young Pioneers program in 2021.
Since then, we have expanded the program and developed The Web of Life Educational Curriculum. This curriculum is now available to homeschool parents, teaching pods, and other farms looking to provide children with meaningful learning experiences.
Our goal is to inspire and educate the next generation about sustainable farming practices, from farm to fork, and aim to help children develop a connection to the land and a sense of responsibility for the environment.

I hoped and prayed...
"A few years ago I hoped and prayed for a place as wonderful, warm, and loving as the farm for my boys. Thank you for all your efforts and taking such good care of so many little ones. We are so grateful!"
